Cornino – Wild Beach and Snorkeling
10km from the centre of Trapani (15min by car) is Cornino beach, part of the Monte Cofano Oriented Nature Reserve. The clear sea and coastal flora create an ideal habitat for snorkeling. Bring a mask and fins: you will see posidonia, sea urchins and small fish. It is recommended to visit in the early morning, when there are fewer people and the light is perfect for photos.
Grotta Mangiapane – A Village Among the Rocks
Grotta Mangiapane, near Custonaci, is 27km from Trapani (30min by car + 10min on foot). It is a rock settlement that was still partially inhabited until the 1960s. Inside you can visit the houses dug into the rock, the ovens and the reconstructed living spaces. Open every day from 9:00 to 19:00, entrance fee approximately €4 adults. A cultural and naturalistic experience not to be missed.
Erice – Medieval Village with a View
Erice is located 750m above sea level, approximately 25km from Trapani (40min by car or cable car + bus). Its cobbled streets, the Genio gardens and the Castello di Venere offer unforgettable views. Taste the “Genovesi” at the Maria Grammatico pastry shop and stop to watch the sunset over the coast. The cable car leaves every 30 minutes, return ticket around €12.
